The PEUGEOT 208 and 2008 have climbed into the top 10 of Auto Express’ prestigious Driver Power ‘New Car’ ranking. PEUGEOT also ranked in the top 10 for ‘Best Car Manufacturers’.

The PEUGEOT 208 jumps an impressive 45 places up to sixth in the Driver Power ‘New Car’ survey. The 208 is joined by the 2008 in eighth after it, again rising 45 places above its position in the 2023 survey.

The Auto Express Driver Power 2024 New Car survey assesses the opinions of thousands of motorists across the country on the best new models to own, providing a definitive top 50 ranking, considering criteria such as reliability, design and running costs.

With an overall rating of 89.59%, the PEUGEOT 2008 received high praise for its design, with the model being rated highest out of all in the survey for its exterior fit and finish. Further testament to the quality of the 2008 came with high rankings for categories including the number of features available on the car and touchscreen usability.

The PEUGEOT 208 sits comfortably in sixth place, holding a total rating of 89.89% thanks largely to the performance of its electric version, ranking second in individual acceleration and noise categories.

As with the 2008, the PEUGEOT 208 impressed with its design and style, but excelled in performance categories, coming top for steering and brake response, ride quality, and second for driving pleasure.

PEUGEOT also climbed the rankings to be listed sixth in the ‘Best Car Manufacturers’ rankings with an overall rating of 87.93%. Climbing three places from ninth in 2023, PEUGEOT’s latest exterior and interior design was a large contributing factor to the 2024 ranking, along with overall driving dynamics.

Maxime Bailly, Marketing Director, PEUGEOT UK, said: “It is gratifying to see both the PEUGEOT 208 and 2008 listed in the top 10 of Auto Express’ New Car survey. The significant improvements compared to previous years is a testament to the lengths PEUGEOT is going to offer quality vehicles that tick all the boxes drivers look for when searching for their next new car.”

PEUGEOT already offers the widest electric line-up of any mainstream European manufacturer, which is set to grow to 12 models by the end of this year. All of PEUGEOT’s latest electric models benefit from the Allure Care warranty, offering comprehensive coverage for 8 years or 100,000 miles.
