Volvo Maintenance Service - From £279

A combination of time and mileage determines the service interval for your car. Normally, the number of miles determines when a service should be performed however, time is also a determining factor. For example, your car is only driven a short distance each year, it should still undergo the prescribed service. In such cases, time is the determining factor. However, if the car is driven longer distances, mileage determines when service should be performed. Service intervals vary depending on model and engine type and in most cases between 12,500-18,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first.

Brake Fluid Change - From £89

Brake fluid has to cope with a lot. It has to stay liquid in really cold climates. It shouldn't corrode metal, plastic or rubber parts of the brake system. And it has to withstand high temperatures generated when braking. Volvo uses DOT 4+ brake fluid with a high boilng point (min 195°C), which can better withstand the heat during braking.

However, it is important to know that brake fluid, over time, absorbs water which lowers the boiling point. This can greatly affect the performance of your brakes and dangerously increase braking distances. Therefore, it's important to change the brake fluid with regular intervals - in most cases two years is the recommended interval.
